Loss is a universal, human experience. In this class, you will learn to see the creative process as grief medicine—exploring techniques for processing grief through various materials and engaging your imagination to heal old wounds, allowing for deeper self-discovery and artistic expression. Rooted in death-doula practices for holding non-judgmental space, you will learn to view grief as a portal, where harnessing the swirling energy of loss becomes a creative force.

- Explore how archetypes like the 8th House, the Tower, and the Phoenix can act as symbolic conduits for energetic grief alchemy.
- Learn to transmute the energy of grief through cognitive and somatic methods.
- Explore the power of embodied belief in rewriting old grief stories and stepping into new narratives.

Hello, I’m Ash—a trained death doula with certification from the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA). I believe that creativity and grief are deeply intertwined aspects of our shared human experience. Both are forces that connect us to what is beyond us—creativity through expression, and grief through the process of transformation and healing. My approach to this class blends spiritually-centered, generative techniques to support both the creative and emotional journeys that shape who we are. I’m excited to guide you in enriching your relationship to the potent energetic axis found within these experiences.

Guided by the principle that to make anything is entering a sacred space, the organization offers diverse programs including hands-on workshops, culturally rich courses, and collaborative community projects that emphasize reclaiming our personal and collective connections to creative process.
Curriculum development involves a collaborative design process with community members and artists, focusing on the process of making over the final product. Program evaluation through participant feedback and community impact assessments help shape and improve our offerings, while we work to ensure accessibility through sliding scale fees and scholarships when possible.
